On the 15th floor, the new office was a blank space with fantastic full height windows that oversees the Clarke Quay area. The brief for the design of this office renovation in Singapore was to create an open concept to establish a pleasant work space for the employees. The office also required a large, well equipped meeting room and private offices for the two directors. In addition, the reception area of the office had to be one that not only provides a sophisticated entrance to welcome clients but one that introduces Cohesive Shipping as a company.
The reception area. The desk’s angles reference a ships prow, and Cohesive Shipping moving into the future.
The reception and meeting room were designed as the focal points of the office and smart design elements were used to ensure they stood out. When walking to the reception, one is greeted by a warm, luxurious space. Marble and light fumed oak catch the eye, with the signage holding center place on the feature wall. The custom made reception desk is sleek and contemporary, making a striking first impression. Its lines create energy and the idea of the company moving into the future. Sophisticated concealed lighting and brown leather detailing complete the feel of the space.

The sliding glass doors of the storage and display unit can be used as whiteboards for brainstorming during meetings.
The meeting room was created as a soundproof cube to ensure undisrupted meeting sessions. The elegant storage and display cabinet was designed to have two glass sliding doors, which can serve as white boards during meetings, providing an ingenious solution for space conservation. Sliding the shelving back reveals a third hidden whiteboard that can be used when necessary.
The two directors’ offices were given prime position with windows overlooking the breathtaking views of Raffles City and Marina Bay Sands. Glass divisions were used for the director’s offices to ensure light is not blocked off from the rest of the office. The rest of the work space follows an open concept with shared, white, contemporary desking throughout. Emerald green streaked carpets and cobalt blue divider panels add a bright splash of colour, creating a positive and invigorating environment for the employees.
Though shared, the desking provides ample space for each of the 11 employees to have a comfortable workspace.
The storage units in the workspace are in dark brown timber, following through from the meeting room.
The workspace has simple lines creating a clean, fuss-free feel, perfect for the high energy sector of shipping and freight. The sophisticated palette and finishes used throughout, reference the corporate identity and focus on quality gained from 30 years in the business.
The whole space is surrounded by amazing views, complemented by the simple lines of the Interior design.
