Home guide began the interior design process by choosing a neutral and contemporary palette to accentuate the spaciousness of the home. The use of track lighting also helped create an industrial edge that complements the home’s existing red brick wall. The space followed a fully open concept, with living, dining and kitchen areas all in one. Custom display units allow for personal items to be neatly packed away, thus not disrupting the flow. This choice of design concept focuses on effortless functionality, a key element in Singapore interior design, where space is often at a premium. Smart appliances and amenities were added, from air-con to lighting and curtains, allowing for control of all systems offsite via mobile.
Vinyl wood grain flooring were chosen for this home’s interior design, which help to create a homogeneous feel to the open concept kitchen and living and dining rooms. All elements were consciously added, creating a neat low maintenance home - something we think is important for residential interior design in Singapore.
The main space with glowing light reflects off the pitched, double-volume ceiling, further illuminating the large space. The kitchen island was added to create a visual distinction from the other spaces. Closed storage as opposed to open shelving was chosen, allowing for storage of appliances and creating a clean fit with the rest of the space.
An industrial natural timber table creates a focal point and draws attention to the dining area, adding warmth against the white backdrop of the room.
The shoe cabinet at the entrance showcases the owner’s unique shoe collection, allowing for elements of personal style without creating clutter.
A walk-in closet to dream was added in the master bedroom. Wood grain laminate and glass sliding doors create a private yet accessible space, with different compartments and drawers for functional storage.
Simple furnishings were used in the study, with the same vinyl wood grain flooring, allowing for the art works to take center stage.
