Luxury Contemporary Living at Caldecott
Tasked with creating a sophisticated yet family-friendly landed home in Caldecott with two young daughters, our team reimagined the layout and palette to bring their vision of an open, vibrant and functional home to life.
The heart of the home is a spacious open-concept kitchen, designed to allow the homeowners to cook and mingle with guests simultaneously. We removed a previously enclosed bathroom to enlarge the kitchen footprint, enabling a dry and wet kitchen configuration. A long benchtop doubles as a breakfast counter and serving area for large gatherings, while custom cabinetry houses a full suite of built-in appliances—including dual ovens, a microwave, dishwasher, and coffee machine.
To maintain flow with the living and dining area, we paired wood laminates with crystal white glass cabinet doors and introduced a quartz backsplash with warm marble veins for depth and visual warmth. In the adjoining living and dining spaces, Carrara marble flooring brightens the interiors, contrasted by modern black-and-white leather seating. Floor-to-ceiling windows and full-height glass doors open out to a courtyard, inviting natural light and seamless indoor-outdoor living.
Copper pendant and patterned rugs layer warmth and texture into the predominantly white palette, creating a clean yet intimate atmosphere. To accommodate the family’s entertainment needs, a concealed timber feature wall cleverly hides the entry to a full-fledged home theatre. Inside, plush leather seating, blackout curtains, warm ambient lighting, and a mix of grey laminates and coloured LEDs evoke the feeling of a private cinema. An attached powder room echoes this mood with dark marble-inspired tiles and paired with a vintage mirror belonging to the homeowners.
Upstairs, we reconfigured part of the second-floor family area to create a new bedroom, giving both daughters their own personalised spaces. The younger daughter’s room features a soft pink “princess” theme with a French Provincial bed, whimsical wallpaper, and delicate curtains that separate the sleeping area from the wardrobe. Her older sister’s room, in cool monochrome tones, features floral black-and-white wallpaper and a clean, modern feel. Both rooms are equipped with built-in dressers and Hollywood-style lighted mirrors.
From luxurious materials to hidden surprises and playful personalisation, this home is a celebration of modern family living—where entertaining, comfort, and style come together seamlessly.
