Teck Whye BTO 2-Room – A Luxe Statement in a Compact Footprint
This 2-room BTO renovation at Tengah Garden Walk redefines what small-space living can look like. Designed with the intention of infusing a luxe, hotel-inspired ambiance within a compact footprint, the home showcases Home Guide’s ability to deliver tailored functionality with a refined aesthetic.
From the moment you enter, the layout unfolds with unexpected openness. The conventional partition between the living and bedroom was removed and replaced with motorized blinds—offering the flexibility of privacy without compromising flow. This bold reconfiguration dissolves boundaries between spaces, enhancing both light and movement within the home.
A sense of quiet luxury is carried throughout with the use of rich textures and refined materials. In the dining area, a suspended ceiling with integrated lighting gives subtle architectural elevation, while decorative metal laminates and clean wall panelling conceal wiring and visually elongate the space. A sliding pocket door softly defines the transition between the open-concept kitchen and living zone, creating distinct functionality without visual bulk.
The kitchen departs from traditional norms. Minimalist cabinetry conceals appliances—including a washing machine—ensuring the space remains visually sleek and clutter-free. The reconfiguration, paired with large tile surfaces and carefully planned storage, makes this compact kitchen feel expansive and modern.
In the bedroom, a platform bed with integrated carpentry anchors the space, while sliding mirrored wardrobe doors help amplify light and dimension. Surrounding storage is seamlessly built in—including thoughtful detailing around the air-conditioning unit—ensuring every inch serves a purpose without disrupting the overall harmony.
The bathroom design pushes boundaries, incorporating a bathtub into what is typically a compact space. Translucent acrylic panels and marble-inspired finishes lend a spa-like experience, while textured walls and warm lighting complete the sensory elevation.
Throughout the home, subtle lighting design—from spotlights to cove and accent lights—adds warmth and refinement, transforming everyday routines into moments of indulgence. A full-height marble feature wall stands as the focal point, adding a bold visual anchor that ties the entire design together.
This BTO interior design project exemplifies how thoughtful spatial planning, bespoke carpentry, and considered finishes can completely elevate a compact home—offering not just livability, but a truly luxurious experience.
