Tengah Garden Walk 2-Room BTO Scandinavian-Muji Inspired Minimalism
Designed as a peaceful sanctuary for a single occupant, this compact 2-room BTO renovation embraces Scandinavian and Muji sensibilities — soft wood tones, clean-lined built-ins, and smart multi-functional use of space.
The living area is warm and inviting, centred around a custom TV feature wall with fluted detailing and hidden storage. Opposite, a bookcase and storage settee wraps around the wall forming the dining nook, complemented by a zen circular recessed shelf feature that anchors the dining bench. Both dining and bench seating double up with hidden storage compartments, maintaining clean surfaces while enhancing utility.
Soft-textured roman blinds diffuse light gently into the home, casting a calm, cocooned atmosphere throughout. In the bedroom, a work-from-home setup is tucked neatly behind a half-height bed partition, with ample cabinetry for supplies and wardrobe needs. Subtle joinery details, like staggered inlay handles and hidden compartments, reinforce the theme of understated function.
In the bathroom, textured stone-look tiles in slate green contrast with smooth beige walls, bringing a serene, almost spa-like quality to the compact layout. A floating vanity with wood-toned drawers completes the Muji-inspired palette.
Despite the home’s small footprint, careful planning of storage, lighting, and built-ins delivers a sense of openness, rhythm, and quiet clarity — a BTO interior design that transforms yourt home into a retreat for slow living in a fast-paced city.
