This dental clinic at Citygate Shopping mall was envisioned as a contemporary space that balances high-functioning clinical zones with an inviting front-of-house atmosphere. From the moment patients step through the glass doors, they are welcomed by a bright palette, soft ambient lighting, and considered detailing—signalling a fresh departure from cold, clinical stereotypes.
The layout was planned with both operational efficiency and patient comfort in mind. Behind the reception, clinical rooms are neatly organised along a clean central corridor, each zone carefully customised to accommodate dental equipment, X-ray machine, sterilisation processes, and essential plumbing and suction infrastructure. Privacy and acoustic control were key considerations in the spatial planning, especially for consultation and treatment rooms.
The reception and waiting area blends professional functionality with warm hospitality. A curve reception counter anchors the space, accompanied by an open-shelving display that softens the clinical setting. A curtain offers flexibility and softness in demarcating private areas, cleverly balancing openness with discretion.
Throughout the clinic, carpentry detailing was executed with precision—from the streamlined cabinetry in the treatment rooms to the bespoke drawers and concealed storage niches in the back-end support areas. Equipment was integrated seamlessly into the joinery to minimise clutter and maximise workspace efficiency.
By merging function with a calming visual identity, this clinic project demonstrates how design can elevate both staff workflow and patient experience—making each visit not just a necessity, but a pleasant routine.
