Had my house interior design done up and completed by Homeguide in May. This was the 2nd time I engaged HG, the 1st was in 2003 when they renovated my Yishun 5-rm apartment. Then, Homeguide was a ‘renovation’ co. but I have found their workmanship – carpentry and tiling – as well as quality of the materials used, to be indeed good – after 15 yrs, things were still in good condition. We therefore made it a point to contact Homeguide, and was glad to find out they have grown larger into one of Singapore’s top interior design companies. We signed up with them right away without even considering other IDs.

IDs Winson and Lance were assigned to us. We like it that HG’s designers work as a team, as I believe two minds are sharper than one. We often hear complaints about IDs in general not responding to customers’ text msg prompt enough, but our experience with Winson and Lance wasn’t so.

As expected with every reno, things didn’t go very smoothly. It was impossible to have thought about every issue, anticipate or preempt every problem. But, what differentiates good IDs from a not-so-good ones is the readiness to acknowledge arising issues as work progressed, and to be flexible to make rectifications along the way to customers’ satisfaction. Winson and Lance have proved to have such a quality. As the main supervising-ID, Winson was very patient and accommodated all of our requests.

“This is the second time that we engage Lance Ching’s team to renovate our house . The first experience was 2 years ago when they renovated our daughter’s place . The turnout was very impressive as our friends and relatives would sing praises of the creativity and workmanship that were seen in the entire house . Besides , they had offered excellent aftersales service . I recalled my daughter needed some solution for a poorly insulated window . They even bothered to walk the extra mile to solve it though the renovation was already over and moreover the issue had nothing to do with the renovations . But they still exhibited a happy and cheerful attitude to help us solve it . Thus it was no wonder that we got Lance to do our 2nd house again .
Lance was able to know my preferences and he went through great length to create a fashionable and sophisticated rack system for my dry kitchen . It was not the usual stainless steel kitchen’s rack system . It is truly seeing to believe such awesome manifestation of creative ideas to blend with the colour scheme and theme in the house . We were awed by the final product and found it very eye catching as well as functional . Another plus point was that though Lance would propose new ideas , he would also try to salvage or leverage on existing fixture or house condition . Hence there were some cost savings for us . Eg he had touched up on my existing marble wall instead of demolish it and with the appropriate new track light , gave it a refreshing feature wall look . Besides Lance , Winson had also been very professional to ensure the well coordinated and smooth flow of the entire renovation . It was indeed a breeze for me as we left the whole renovation to them while we were on holiday . They were very responsible and their rates were very reasonable too for the overall great quality work especially the carpentry works which were very good . Finally , we want to thank Lance and Winson for their excellent effort in making our dream house into a realty !!”

Me and my husband are glad that we made the right choice engaging Home Guide to do up our house. At first we were uneasy because it’s our first home and first time doing a renovation. What makes us worrier is the number of renovation cases that are going on lately. But after few meetings and discussions, the designer that we engaged with, Alissa, we confident to make Home Guide our ID. She understood what we want very quickly and she gave a lot of solutions for us as we are newbie, we don’t know what best for our home. Thanks Home Guide!
